SCIM Tax

SCIM is the protocol IT teams use to automate user provisioning and deprovisioning. Of the 849 SaaS vendors surveyed below, 331 offer it. 278 of those charge extra for it through a higher plan, a paid add-on or a sales call, and 218 don't publish what it costs.

Methodology

Which vendors. Vendor names come from public SaaS directories, identity-provider app catalogues and Iden's connector catalogue, weighted toward the apps mid-market and enterprise teams buy. Those lists only decide which vendors are included.

Where the facts come from. Every fact about a vendor comes from the vendor's own pages: its pricing page, documentation, help centre and API reference. Whether an app is in the Okta or Microsoft Entra catalogue is checked on Okta's and Microsoft's own pages. Third-party lists, reviews and resellers are never used as evidence, and each vendor's research file links the page and quotes the sentence behind every fact.

What we record. Whether SCIM is offered, the lowest plan that includes it and its price, the standard plan most teams buy and its price, the plan that includes SSO, and links to the pricing page and documentation.

Status definitions. No Tax: SCIM on the standard plan at no extra cost. Gated: SCIM only on a higher plan, behind sales, or as a paid add-on. Partial: limited SCIM, such as one identity provider only or no deactivation. No SCIM: not offered on any plan; creating accounts at sign-in (JIT) does not count. Unknown: could not be confirmed from the vendor's public pages.

Prices are as the vendor publishes them, in US dollars where listed and usually on annual billing; hover a plan for the exact terms. The full methodology document covers edge cases and update rules. Found an issue? Open an issue.
